Hard Drive Data Recovery Services Can Help Your Business. by Jason Donovan
When we delete files from our computers, the informationdoesn't disappear. It only becomes invisible for human eyes, but it is still present on the drive, until some other dataoverwrites it. This is how data recovery is possible, if weact fast and wise to get it recovered.
When you notice that you have missing files, stop anyactivity. This will prevent those sectors of information tobe overwritten, thus allowing for further data recovery. Ifyou overwrite those labels, it is possible that your databecomes lost for good. This is why you shouldn't use yourcomputer anymore in case you detect a suspect sound of thedrive in motion, or you see some of your files are missing.
Never download or buy data recovery software in order to tryto retrieve your data without help. You may not succeed inyour enterprise and you can kiss your data goodbye. It iswiser not to do that, because you can't know what happenedand if you are doing more harm than good with that software.
Wherever we have a magnetic data storage support, it appearsthe danger and the possibility of data loss. Hard disks areexposed, as well as USB pens, mp3 players, or storage cards. All operating systems from Novell to Linux or Windows are exposed.
If your computer's hard disk makes an unusual noise inoperation, this may be a sign that it will soon crash. Ahardware recovery cannot be done at home, so you'll need togo to a disaster recovery company. They work in clean rooms, which are protected from dust or other particles that maycause definitive damage to a hard drive.
Crashed RAID disks can be retrieved, but no service wouldguarantee you complete success. In order for a RAID recoveryto succeed, it is necessary that all the servers in thearray are accessible.

Symptoms of a Hard Disk Failure Resulting Into Data Loss. By Andrew Juan
1. System Boot Failure: When we make some changes to our system configuration like hardware upgrade, operating system update or driver upgrade we might face issues related to logical crash and thus no boot. It might take place due to damaged computer system files, boot record information, file system corruption etc. We normally boot our systems using hard drives. We can also use Floppy disks, USB Devices where we can easily save files in the drive, SSD (Solid State Disk) and Optical media like DVD, CD etc. If the hard drive has some internal issues then it will be difficult to boot your system. Due to boot failure, you can not access your data and thus may lose valuable data like official documents and more.
2. System Noise: Sometimes when your computer is running, you might hear some strange clicking and scrapping noise that could be either at regular or irregular time intervals. In such cases, you are advised to immediately turn off your computer.
These sounds might come because of failed spindle motor, head crash or broken actuator. At this point of time, you should check warranty of the hard drive and if it is out of warranty you need to contact a hardware repair professional to get your hard drive back to the normal state and safeguard the data files as soon as the system boots up normally.
If we are not able to achieve this in time we may face data loss and will need to carry out Hard Disk Recovery in logical crash situations.
3. No Disk Access: Sometimes when you try to read data from hard drive or attempt to write to it, you are unable to do it. No read/write operation can be completed if the hard drive cannot get accessed. In such scenarios, the hard drive heats up and the system's or chassis' red LED light (activity) generally remains active. It can be because of problems related to hard drive internals or file system errors. It can cause physical as well as logical corruption and thus data loss.
4. Error Messages: You may see a blue screen when your computer is running with certain STOP information regarding the error occurred. One of the major causes of Blue Screens is hard disk failure. It might cause file system corruption and data loss.
When you see any of the above symptoms in your computer, you should avoid using the system without fixing the issue. The first step you should take is to find out the cause of failure. There are two major causes of hard drive failure:
1. Logical Damage
2. Physical Damage
If the important system files of your computer are missing or corrupt, you will encounter error messages and may face the data loss. To resolve these issues, you need to opt for Recovery software to achieve 'Do It Yourself' Hard Drive Recovery.
On the other hand, physical Data Recovery is comparatively more complex as it requires specialized service environment like the one provided by Clean Rooms. It needs special assistance of Hard Drive Recovery experts. In such cases, to get your data recovered, you need to go for Recovery service.
In order to achieve absolute, safe and quick Hard Drive Recovery, you should always ensure that you choose a time tested brand in Data Recovery industry such as Stellar Information Systems Limited.

Vital Office Network System Backup & Data Recovery. By April Hall
How Common Is System Failure?
The statistics are scary to believe, but all office network drives will eventually fail. The majority of this failure is caused by hardware or system malfunction, or perhaps by viruses or program malfunctions; but a large portion may also be caused by simple human error. Even with these startling facts, the vast majority of companies do not take the time to test their tape backups. Over 50% of important corporate network data is found only on unprotected laptops and desktop PC's, in essence waiting for a disaster to destroy all of that important information. Government reports state that three quarters of companies that have a major data loss (without proper backup disaster recovery plans) to out of business within a year and a half.
Since today's laptops and desk PC's hold a great deal more information than in past years, the loss of a single system can cause irreparable loss to a company's data. Most system users will say that they are very concerned about losing important data; yet the vast majority of these same users very seldom back up their files. The best way to make sure that your company does not have to deal with lost data after an employee, office network or natural disaster is to perform regular file backups.
Office network installation companies recommend backing up data at the end of every workday, as well as performing a full system restore at least once a month to make sure the backup system is working. Even though every precaution is taken, it is common for the backup files to become corrupt; and it is always devastating to find this out after a disaster situation.
WesTec Systems provides IT consultants for Houston clients who would like more information about the importance of having a backup recovery plan. These professionals can create a report for customers that details common data protection mistakes, critical safety measures every company should adhere to and how to reduce crashes and other frustrating computer problems. To schedule a consultation with one of these office network professionals, visit our website at http://westecservices.net or call us today at (713) 682-4000.

Data Recovery Equipment. By Zoe Chou
The foremost use of computer is data storage. All the data is stored on a physical disk named hard disk drive which is a magnetic layer. And it is more likely to be stricken by a wide variety of reasons, such as a partition lost, system can not access, human mistake (accidental reformatting, deletion), file corruption, power surge, and virus attack, to the worst, these physical level failures typically are head crash, platter scratch, and motor failures caused by overwriting, physical damages, natural disasters, etc.
Sometimes a hard drive has been stricken dead or not working at all without any warning signs, but some other times there may be some clues that something is going bad or amiss. Such changes in performance or sudden blue screens are telltale signs that the hard drive may be on its way to collapse. The most obvious and common sign are clicking, squealing, scraping or grinding noises.
The computer become more involved in our daily life, so the danger of data loss also surfaces.
As most of us have already experienced data loss, it could be frustrated and traumatic, when you finally find your critical data are not able to recover. As a matter of fact, logical failures as I previously mentioned, a data recovery software program can simply work out, but speaking of physical failures, No! Those drives with minor physical failures will need a special equipment to repair hard drive itself or recover data.
Why data recovery software will stop there? The ordinary user-level repeated-read access method that is used by imaging software bring a risk of damaging the disk and head, making data lost irretrievable. Also the software skips bad sectors directly in order not to get hang (freeze). Even so it gets hang most of the time in case the drive has lost of bad sectors. Plus, there is no guarantee that all the data will be extracted as much as possible, though days or weeks of time wasted on imaging bad drives. That's why you should avoid it at all cost.
A unique data recovery equipment known as Data Compass is mostly used among experts and practitioners worldwide, where traditional tools can not reach the height. Data Compass reads data of each sector physically byte-to-byte, including good and bad, and copy to a good disk using its data extraction software and hardware. "Shadow Disk" technology allows Data Compass to maximally avoid further damage to the drive, and ensure the data is not lost from repeated recovery attempts.
Technically speaking, it is hard to figure out how exactly the data can be recovered. It all depends. In most cases, data will be able to recover as long as the parts of hard drive are not severely damaged, otherwise you should swap its components then like platters, heads, and a spindle motor, for example.
A current tool named "hard drive head/platter exchange professional" used for drive disassembling and head/platter exchange will be replaced by the vendor soon. The change is made for optimization reason, and the new product is a better enhancement; plus, the new platter exchanger allows users to work on hard drive with spacers between platters.
If you have known much about data recovery and if you have a craving for this field, you should start your own business with a right equipment and then you can be an expert. Of course, it is not easy to find a proper option from current data recovery equipments with sky-high price in economy hard times. It is even worse when comes to new versions of software to products you are possessing, vendors will charge every time. In this case, free of charge upgrade service is the way to go.

Retrieve Deleted Files, Reduce Your Headache! By Celly Kayser
Retrieving a accidentally deleted file is easier then you might think. When you delete a file, the data stored on the hard drive is not deleted. Only the reference to the file, stored at the drives index table is deleted. This table contains the location of all the file fragments on the hard disk. If your hard drive is not full and the data is not overwritten then you can use any free or commercial 'uneraser' software to retrieve it. This software searches the hard drive from the first byte to the last byte for files, ignoring the index table.
If you lost your data due to a 'Blue Screen Of Death', or power failure when a document was opened, it is a bit more difficult. If you regularly boot your computer, the data is lost. This is because the document was stored in the ram and in the page file. This file is an extension to the ram in order to increase the amount of data that can be saved. Booting from a live CD and reading the page file should give you fragments of your document back. The page file is located at 'C:/pagefile.sys' and will be cleared after each reboot.
You can also change this behavior through the registry. Good registry cleaners can stabilize the system, to decrease needs for restoring data. By modifying window's behavior, they also make it easier to recover data, if anything happens!

Free Recovery Software - How to Recover Deleted Files. By Mark P
Do not panic, there is a possibility of recovering the files you lost with recovery tools. You can recover deleted file such as document, music, pictures, and videos files. Recovery software programs are great tools that can be used on most devices from hard drives to even digital camera devices.
How does recovery software work?
Even thought you may have deleted a file from your computer's hard drive, it still remains on the hard drive until it is replaced by another file installed on your computer. So basically, when the file is deleted, it is still there on the hard drive, even though you cannot see it. The chance of it not being there depends on the users if they have installed many other files that could have replaced the old files.
What should you do to recover an accidentally deleted file?
When a file was accidentally deleted, the most important thing to do is prevent the deleted file from being overwritten by another file. Avoid installing programs and other files until you recover the deleted file. It is better to install the recovery software on a USB Device or floppy disk rather on the hard drive to prevent overwriting the files. As a good practice, always backup your important files.
Free Recovery Tools
Some free recovery software that can be use to recover deleted files are Pandora Recovery, FreeUndelete, and EASEUS Deleted File Recovery. These programs are great tool that can recover the files that you might think you can not recover.

5 RAID Data Recovery Prevention Tips. By James Allen
Following these tips will help limit the need for data disaster recovery in the future.
1. If you are copying information from an old harddrive onto those being used in your array, be sure to keep the old disk around for a while. That way, if you discover any faults or errors in your raid array, you will still have your original data to work with.
2. Make sure you choose the raid level that works best for your needs. If you are just in need of faster reads and basic redundancy, RAID Level 1 may be your ticket. This basic level Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks ensures against data loss by incorporating 2 drives - one mirroring the other. Although the cost per megabyte is higher, the increase in speed and protection against data loss are well worth it.
3. If you are setting up a multi-user enviroment, creating a 3 or 5 drive RAID-5 array may be your best choice for speed and data protection. Keep in mind though, if your requirements are write performance sensitive, there are better alternatives.
4. If you are trying to decide between a software based or hardware based RAID array, remember, hardware based arrays do not require software to boot, have the logic within them and as such are much more fault tolerant. Stick with a hardware array if you are concerned about disaster recovery planning!
5. Despite the increase in speed and performance using RAID arrays, files can still become disorganized and corrupted. Be sure to run your preferred software for scanning and checking your disks on a regular basis.
If you think taking the extra time to follow these tips and care for your RAID array sounds tedious, take a few moments to check out the cost of raid data disaster recovery. That alone should make you realize that your efforts are not in vain!

Bill Gates Made Data Recovery Easy. By Navneetkumar Kumar
Several time we make mistakes unknowingly and we lost our data, then we need to recover the data. There are so many data recovery solutions available but most of them are very costly. There may be a very easy way for data recovery.
To use data recovery you can back up your files to CDs, DVDs, external hard drives, other internal hard drives, tape drives, etc. They all work, it's just that each media choice has it's own pros and cons regarding ease of use, data storage capacity, and so on. It hardly matter what media you choose for data recovery but the important thing is that it should work.
There are several good backup programs that are very much useful for data recovery job, but Bill gates provided one very good option to do data recovery very easily. Most Microsoft Windows users have a great backup program included with their operating software. If you are a Windows XP user that program is called NT Backup. If it's not already installed on your computer insert your Windows CD, find the folder titled ValueAddMSFTntbackup, and run the program in that folder called ntbackup.msi. It will set up the backup software for use on your computer in no time and you will even have simple to use wizards that will walk you through doing file backups and restores simply and easily.
After properly installing the software you can be prepared for any time data recovery. Probably this is the easiest way to recover your data. Whenever you will need this trick will work and the cost of data recovery will be negligible.

Tape Backup Software and Tape Backups Are Not Dead - Yet!. By Steven C
In many of the bigger corporations, disk based backups are being increasingly used for faster backups as well as specific file recoveries that were accidentally deleted by users. It's true that the tape backup software still remains the backup choice for many; however, the trend is going to change soon due to retrieval convenience, afforded by block level backups, offsite capabilities, and emerging virtualization technologies that allow a backup system to be more than just a backup device in the event of a disaster.
One of the big problems with tape backups and tape backup software is their failure rate. Not even touching on the subject of human intervention, tape backups simply fail. Analysts estimate that anywhere from 42 to 71 percent of all tape backups fail. Magnetic tapes just do not stand the test of time or multiple writes all that well. Tapes, in contrast to disk, are physically delicate and easily compromised by environmental factors such as heat, humidity, and magnetic interference.
Tape backups and tape backup software also take a considerable amount of time to restore in comparison to a disk-based backup solution. Tape backup software is usually painfully slow. Time is a crucial consideration when a server, application or network drive goes down as each hour that goes by can be quite costly to almost any business.
While disk-based backups are notably more efficient than tape-based systems, they are not the end-all-be-all solution. Simply migrating to a disk-based backup solution does not alleviate the network administrator or small business owner of monitoring and managing backup processes, encrypting and safeguarding backed up onsite and offsite data, restoring data to new hardware and other functions.
There are many considerations a small business owner needs to make when developing a solid backup plan. While the tape backup and tape back software market is not completely dead yet, it seems that anyone implementing or thinking about a backup plan might want to consider a disk-based backup solution. Another worthy consideration is adding offsite storage.
Looking for a reason to get rid of your tape backup software and tape backup system? How to Repair PST Files - Repair a Corrupt Outlook PST File. By Vikram Singh
The first option is to use a simple tool that Microsoft provides to fix these errors, it is called the Inbox Repair Tool and it is usually able to fix most corrupted PST Files. What it does is basically repair the header of the PST file and delete anything from the file it does not recognize or understand. To access the tool click on Start and perform a normal Windows search for the following executable, scanpst.exe. Start up the tool click Browse and choose the PST file that is corrupted and use the Repair Tool to attempt a quick fix.
Now the next reason why your PST File can become corrupted is because your file has exceeded the 2GB File size limit. You see the maximum size limit for outlook PST files is 2GB, and once you go over the 2GB limit, the entire file becomes corrupt and you cannot access any emails at all. If this occurs then you won't be able to use the inbox repair tool to fix the problem, and you will need some help.
In order to fix this problem, you will have to use third party software to get the job done, as Microsoft doesn't provide any utilities to repair the corrupted PST files. A program that I used when I was stuck in this dilemma was Stellar Outlook Repair. The way it works is very safe and guaranteed to recover all emails and other outlook items. The software creates a new PST file and then tries to copy over all of the data from the corrupted file. It scans the file and goes through several more steps to recover as much data as possible. The program offers a free trial download so you are able to see if you can actually recover your corrupted emails at no cost.
To sum up, if you want to repair PST Files then you can try fixing them by using the Inbox Repair Tool or if your file has exceed the 2GB File size limit then you will need to use a third party program. Stellar Outlook Repair is a great program and is able to Repair a Corrupt Outlook PST File no matter how damaged or corrupt it has become, the program is guaranteed to recover all your emails.

Break-Downs and Break-Ins Leading to Data Loss. By George Pata
System Breakdown: In the case of an operating system, it is the one that forms the basis and the platform for other software to be installed. An operating system may breakdown due to a virus, which will either corrupt or destroy some system files. An operating system may also breakdown if some system files are corrupted, changed or deleted. If the platform is changed, it means that other things built on that platform will have to change. Thus, if the operating system is reconfigured, corrupted or some files are missing, the data within it will change or will be lost.
Criminal Break-ins: This means that some form of crime is performed to get access to data and destroy it. This may include theft, hacking into a system and even arson i.e. deliberately starting a fire to cause destruction of data. Even in these extreme cases like this data can be recovered.
Natural Disaster Break-ins: Natural disasters like floods, earthquakes, tornadoes etc. come very unexpectedly as thieves in the night. These are occurrences that cannot be stopped or avoided. They usually cause mass destruction and loss, even of data.

Data Loss Dangers Your Laptop is Exposed To. By George Pata
Also, if the operating system of a laptop fails to work, there is a possibility data will be lost. This is because the operating system is the basic platform on which all other software and other utilities run on. It is also the basic component that enables data retrieval hence, its failure leads to data loss.
Human Error: There are many forms of human errors. They can be classified into intentional and non-intentional human errors. Non-intentional errors may include accidental erasure, accidental dropping of the laptop and also sometimes forgetting to backup data. Human beings are not perfect and thus are bound to carry out many erroneous deeds. Some intentional human errors are mainly computer crimes like hacking into one's laptop and deleting some data. Stealing is also considered a human error. Thus, try and make your laptop as personal as possible.
Natural Disasters: As we all know, man can never control nature. This means if disasters occur naturally like floods, tornadoes or earthquakes, then the data within ones laptop is bound to be destroyed and get lost.
Computer Viruses: Viruses are programs that are designed to corrupt or interfere with the normal operations of a computer system and even cause destruction of files. The destructive ones attach themselves to certain files and ensure all the data within is completely destroyed, forcing you to desperately seek data recovery solutions.

Benefits of a Data Disaster Recovery Plan. By George Pata
There is an assurance: Since a plan has been put in place before a certain disaster occurs, there is an assurance and confidence that is built in the employees and also customers. This will mean that both the employees and customers remain loyal to a particular firm. It will also increase the customer base because having a contingency plan acts as a good selling pint to potential client. Being prepared for disasters is one way of attracting customers.
File Security: It has been noted that at the current time, file corruption has greatly increased due to the spread of viruses. This means that data can be easily lost. Thus, planning and putting into place systems of backup will ensure that data belonging to that organization will be safe. In any case, if data is lost, they can always go to the backup and retrieve the data. In case of corrupted files, that backup system can be used to restore the corrupted files and allows a business to continue with its everyday running.
Saves on Time and Money: This is one of the major benefits of coming up with a data disaster recovery plan. If data was to be lost and no backups were kept, it would mean recreating the data all over again. Recreating this data would mean employees demanding overtime pay, informing the clients to bring their data again (meaning wasting the client's time and even money) and even negative publicity that would eventually lead to closure. A disaster plan puts in place backups that can be retrieved and business continues as usual. This saves a lot of time and money and therefore, it is advisable to come up with a disaster recovery plan for data.

5 Reasons Data Recovery Specialists Are So Helpful. By Glen Peebles
1. There are many ways data can be compromised. Data recovery specialists work with physical damage to storage media to duplicate or save the information that was originally there. This physical damage may be caused by improper handling of CDs or DVDs which leads to scratches. It can be caused by mechanical problems with the hard drive. Power surges can cause logical damage that can only be deciphered through data recovery.
2. You probably do not have the skills to do data recovery yourself. If data recovery is not your business, it is probably not your focus. You are more in tune with your own job which may be sales, management, or marketing for instance. You no doubt have excellent skills in your own area, but knowing when to defer to the data recovery expertise of someone else is also a talent. What is more, if you do not know how to accomplish data recovery properly, you can do more harm than good.
3. Data recovery specialists have the experience to manage your problem. Someone who does nothing but diagnoses and fixes data recovery difficulties every day learns what it takes to retrieve information from damaged disks and tapes. They know how and when to replace parts. They are accustomed to working in a cleanroom facility to avoid environmental hazards. They also know how to do special data recovery techniques such as disk imaging to get the most lost information off your storage media.
4. Doing your own data recovery will likely void the warranty on your equipment. If you leave the job to a professional, you can save your warranty by documenting the individual or company that did the work. You may even be able to get a data recovery specialist that is in some way affiliated with your computer supplier. With a valid warranty you can save more money in the long run.
5. You may need your data to keep your business running. Data recovery specialists make it possible for you to stay in business even if a storage medium containing valuable information is damaged. While it is a good rule of thumb to back up everything, sometimes damage happens before a backup can be made. If this happens, data recovery is your only hope of recouping that information so that it can be used in your business. Because of data recovery, that one lone employee working on a special project has a safety net that will prevent his work from being totally lost in case of a hard drive failure.
A data recovery specialist is your go-to person when it comes to getting back data that you thought was lost forever. This person has special techniques and skills that will make it possible to find much if not all of the information that your storage media originally held. In this, as in many endeavors, it is usually best to rely on an expert.

Computer Disk Hardware Configuration Problem. By Jacob Luis
In few of the cases, starting Windows XP may not ensue as expected, but instead you may get error messages as:
"Windows could not start because of a computer disk hardware configuration problem.
Could not read from the selected boot disk. Check boot path and disk hardware.
Please check the Windows documentation about hardware disk configuration and your hardware reference manuals for additional information."
Alternatively, the error message statement may differ and may signify that Ntoskrnl.exe or Hal.dll file is corrupt or missing. In addition to this, improper system behavior may be encountered as: none of the Windows folders get accessed, Windows repair attempts fail through operating system CD, Recovery Console doesn't display any option, which shows issues with the system.
Ntoskrnl.exe: This is one of the primary parts of Windows XP systems, being built on Windows NT kernel and architecture. Ntoskrl.exe is the kernel image and is the source of major system services.
Hal.dll: This file lets Windows XP to communicate with computer hardware. In other words, this is the Hardware Abstraction Layer which permits interaction between two system components: hardware and software.
Reason
Boot.ini file is the main file, used by Ntldr to make Operating System boot selector menu, which contains the configuration options of boot menu. The above error message may occur if the default value is found to be corrupt or missing from this file.
Another reason could be that Windows XP is not installed according to Boot.ini file.
Partition path is set in Boot.ini file, which can cause the error messages to occur if has not been set correctly.
Ntoskrnl.exe or Hal.dll is damaged or missing.
Hard drive has got logically failed, which will require Data Recovery.
Solution
The problematic Boot.ini file needs to be edited to ensure correct Default entry and accurate pointing to directories. For this go to My Computer->Properties->Advanced->Settings (under Startup and Recovery)-> System Setup->Edit. You can also use bootcfg /rebuild command through Recovery Console command prompt.
To overcome Ntoskrnl.exe issues, you can use expand <>:\i386\ntoskrnl.ex_ <>:\Windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe command through Recovery Console command prompt.
To resolve hard drive issues, you need to use chkdsk /r command through Recovery Console.
When we are not able to solve such issues and the logical crash occurs we need to reinstall the operating system. That is preferably done after formatting a drive or partition, specifically the primary partition. The data lost in this way can be crucial to be recovered through Data Recovery Software, which are specialized Data Recovery utilities to scan and recover the lost data. The Data Recovery Software are interactive applications. They are safe to use due to their read-only behavior and offer secure restoration.
Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery uses the most influential scanning algorithms and hence is able to recover most of the data and safely restore them. It is compatible with FAT16, FAT32, VFAT, NTFS and NTFS5 file systems. This Data Recovery Software is user friendly and can thoroughly examine hard drives. Windows XP Startup Errors. By Andrew Juan
If Windows XP is prompting any message which indicates that a particular file or service is failing to load, then we first need to check if it is listed in System Configuration Utility (A specific tool which permits solving Windows system issues by letting us change startup options and access Boot.ini and System.ini like files). If it is, we need to turn off the file or service, in question. When user removes or deletes a program from computer system, it is recommended to remove it completely. Any information left can create obstacles for Windows XP to start correctly. This is suggested to use Add or Remove Programs option of Control Panel. If any such incomplete program removal is causing startup issues, we can reinstall it and then remove it ideally.
Windows XP may hang at start and may not generate any error message:
The first step is to start the system in Safe mode. This is the valuable Windows starting mode, which starts the system with less functionality and disables devices and system files, which are not that much critical to start the Windows and thus allows us to troubleshoot Windows. Next, we can check for the device drivers. Device Manager can be used look at the problem and then change them accordingly. Windows XP consents to roll back any changes, done to the Windows registry, system files or programs through System Restore feature. This can let the system to work in the earlier working state via snapshots, stored as restore points. So, we can use these points to solve startup issues and avoid Data Recovery needs.
One more system rolling option is Last Known Good configuration, which is the copy of last recent settings that worked to boot the system. Users can use this feature and cope up the current startup problem. Windows XP installation may have gone so bad that the built-in recovery options can't repair it. Thus, we need to use Windows CD and run the setup program to correct it. Incorrect CMOS/BIOS settings can also resist system starting well. We can see to it and change them accordingly. Hard disk damage or file system corruption can create serious problems and don't let the system to start. To confirm and repair these issues, we can make use of command-line utility through Recovery Console and hence get Data Recovery.
- If it is unable to access the hard disk, then hard drive is physically failed and we need to replace it after recovering all the data through Data Recovery Services . This is manual help, offered by Data Recovery technicians who repair the failed hard drive and extract the lost information. Data Recovery Service is considered safe, if is being provided via Clean Rooms and technical experts.
- However, if hard drive is accessible, but still can't correct the problems, then the issue is irreparable file system damage or MBR (Master Boot Record). We can run Fix and Fixboot command through recovery console or reformat the drive. Data lost in this way is recoverable through Data Recovery Software, which can scan, recover and restore lost data safely. Data Recovery Software come with graphically rich interface, so any normal user can easily use them for Data Recovery.
Stellar Information Systems Limited, pioneering Data Recovery since 1993, offers worth Data Recovery solutions for all data loss cases. Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery Software uses the powerful scanning algorithms which can extract the lost information effectively and is equipped with interactive interface. Stellar's Data Recovery Service is offered through Class 100 Clean Rooms, where experts know all the internal details and the exact methods to correct all media physical failure issues.

What is the best Hard Drive to purchase!. By John Salamon
Insurance For Your Personal Data!. By John Salamon
Of late I have had a lot of customers call me up to recover their precious data from their laptop or desktop PC after a serious crash or virus attack. A simple but rarely used method which can be adopted by all operating systems whether it be XP or Vista. The only requirement is that your hard drive has to be partitioned or you need to have a second hard drive available.
So in order to save you a great deal of heartache in the future I will now go through with you how to move your 'My Documents' folder from its default location at the time when windows was installed to another partition or better still another hard drive which will greatly reduce any risk of data loss.
First go to the intended new location of your 'My Documents' folder, create a new folder and rename it, yep you guessed it 'My Documents'.
Now we will tell the computer to relocate the contents of your original 'My Documents' folder to the new folder you have just created on another hard drive or partition.
To do that go to Start and open up the Start menu in the bottom left corner of your desktop, 'Right Click' on 'My Documents' in the start menu. Left Click on 'Properties' on the pop- up menu.
In Vista click on the 'Location' tab in the newly opened 'Documents Properties' box.
Then click the 'Move' button and then navigate to and select your new 'My Documents' folder. Your computer will now move you 'My Documents' files from the folder in C: drive to your newly created folder on another partition or hard drive.
Now I hear you ask? What is the purpose of changing the location of your original 'My Documents' folder off C: drive?
Well to answer that question, when people have problems with their computer whether it be their operating system 'Windows' is sick, they have caught a virus which has gone rampant or if your hard drive is playing up to the point where Windows won't boot up, the first thing you will be asking yourself is 'Are my personal files ok!' In most cases they will still be there but they just won't be readily accessible. In other cases a serious 'recovery mission' might be what the doctor orders; which can be expensive and time consuming and provides no guarantee of recovering all if any files especially if a virus is involved or the hard drive has lost its file structure is or damaged in any way.
So it goes without saying 'An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure'!
For just a little configuration change you can save yourself the possibility of a Huge Headache while giving yourself peace of mind that your personal data is secure!
If for any reason you don't feel comfortable making the above windows configuration change or you would like a new hard drive and backup image created as well as your 'My Documents' folder relocated by an expert technician and you live within the Adelaide suburbia, please feel free to give me a call.

Chkdsk Can't Repair FAT32 Volume. By Jacob Luis
In few of the cases, the Chkdsk utility may unexpectedly quit without curing corruption. Though the corruption exists and volumes are corrupt and inaccessible, but the utility may prompt the correct file system type:
"The type of the file system is FAT32.
Volume Serial Number is C408-2213"
However, if we run Chkdsk, without the use of any command-line switches, the volume is reported corrupt and running chkdsk e: command may prompt an error, but the corruption problem may still remain the same:
"The type of the file system is FAT32.
Volume Serial Number is C408-2213
Errors found. CHKDSK cannot continue in read-only mode.
Reason
This is a specific problem when Boot sector (Primary program to boot the system) is corrupt. The errors lies in the way Chksk handles the Boot sector and its backup copy, which is located at sector 6 of logical drive. Ideally, Chkdsk should make use of the backup copy to offer Data Recovery, but it doesn't do this because the primary boot sector is not located in a bad sector and contains invalid information and at this condition Chkdsk fails to use the backup copy of Boot sector.
Solution
In order to gain file system repair and hence Data Recovery, this is vital that the backup copy must be restored for use. We can make use of DiskProbe utility which can replace the corrupt primary Boot sector information, placed at sector 0 with that of Boot sector copy, placed at sector 6.
DiskProbe is a GUI sector editor tool and is operable when the user has local Administrator rights. This is a specialized tool which can repair many of the disk corruption errors, replace the MBR, damaged partition table information and Boot sectors as well. But, viewing the boot sectors as a FAT boot sector through View menu can make the backup copy also corrupt and hence Data Recovery Software remain the only solutions to retrieve the lost data after formatting the drive ( Formatting refreshes the file system)
Data Recovery Software are the powerful applications which can scan the drive for lost data and then recover it. These applications are safe and interactive at Data Recovery and hence are complete to extract data.
Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery uses the powerful scanning algorithms and offers Data Recovery through graphically rich interface. This Data Recovery Software is compatible with FAT16, FAT32, VFAT, NTFS and NTFS5 file systems. Stellar also offers different Data Recovery Software for UNIX, Novell, Macintosh and Linux operating systems.

Avoid at All Costs Doing Your Own Data Recovery. By George Pata
Time Wastage: Every one is talented/gifted/well trained in a different field. When one begins to work on something that he/she is not well trained to do, they will end up wasting their valuable time. Instead of using their experience in developing himself/herself they are busy doing something else they know very little about. This leads to wastage of time and as a famous quote goes "Time is money". Wastage of time is wastage of money. Data recover specialists are well trained to recover lost data. Therefore, it is advisable not to waste your time trying to do someone else's job.
Worsening of the Situation: Since you are not really sure of what you are doing, there is always a very high possibility of making matters worse. One may cause overwriting of data and once that happens, data cannot be recovered. Not in a 100 years!! It is also possible that the environment in which the attempted recovery is being done is not conducive. Data recovery is best done in a clean room that is dust free. Dust particles may interfere with the hard disk causing it to crash further.
Exposure to Hazards: If an individual attempts to recover data on their own, there are a number of risk that he is exposing himself to, the most common one is that of being electrocuted e.g. data recovery is usually done when the computer is powered on thus one may get electrocuted while trying to retrieve the data. Data recovery specialist are well trained to know how to operate with a powered computer and they know how to recover the data.
Tampering with other components: In some cases, there are individuals who don't have proper knowledge of computer hardware. In the process of trying to recover their data, the may accidentally tamper with some component without knowing and when they try to use their PC after the data crisis is over, they get other unexpected problems. This is why it is always advisable that if one loses their data, to get immediate help from a data recovery specialist.

How to Restore Deleted Files. By Geoff White
What if you deleted the recycle bin? Well that is a little more complicated. That will take a third-party software program. If you are not confident with your restore-deleted-files abilities, even with the software, it will be well worth the money to have a professional retrieve your information.
How did this happen, anyway? Was that the first question out of your mouth? It happens. People forget or get lazy about backing up their system and then are the first to be shocked when a virus hits and eats their data. I know because I've been that lazy person. Backing up your computer work is really easy and it's almost full-proof. Back up your work.always, continuously and everyday if you have to.
Even though you emptied your recycle bin cyber papers, the file may still be recovered. The trick is, don't do any tricks. If your buddy tells you he has a program that his dad used to retrieve data and he watched him work the software. Don't let him touch your computer! You don't want to have what you are attempting to retrieve overwritten by another file. Tell the friend to politely leave, or maybe not so politely. Although your personal computer program may not be able to retrieve the information off the hard drive, certain data retrieval companies can and will, successfully.
External hard drives are always a nice device to have around in case of a computer accident. I know of a motorcycle rider that dumped her bike. Not only was her cell phone, electronic address book and digital camera trashed, but she ran over her laptop. Luckily she was able to enlist an external hard drive and retrieve the data (well, a lot of it) from her laptop with the help of another computer. A disaster diverted. Plus her laptop, bike and camera were insured.
Your files are retrievable from the recycle bin, but may not be as easy to retrieve if you empty said recycle bin. Make sure you take your computer to a professional for data retrieval. And please, don't forget to back up your work.always, continuously and daily if needed.

Symptoms of Hard Drive Failure Leading to Data Loss. By George Pata.
Boot Failure: Sometimes, it is possible for one to switch on the computer and it refuses to boot. This may occur as a result of the hard disk containing bad sectors in some disks and/or even corrupted boot record data. Most of the time, booting is done from the hard disk and if there is a problem with the hard disk, then it would be difficult to have a proper boot.
Unusual Sounds: In some cases, when the computer is running, one can be able to note some unusual click sounds (whirring or buzzing), that can either be at regular or irregular intervals. It is advised that once this has happened to contact a computer specialist. This sound may come as a result of a broken actuator arm or failure of a servo motor. The best thing to do is to backup your data immediately and contact a data recovery specialist in case some data may go missing.
Appearance of "Blue Screen of Death": When a computer is running, and a blue screen with a lot of information written on it appears and usually reboots automatically. This is what we refer to as the "blue screen of death". It is usually a crash recovery program that tries to recover data that has been lost. One of the principle causes of its appearance is hard drive failure. Therefore, the next time it appears, check on your hard disk.
No sound of read/writing: Whenever data is read/stored from a storage device, there is usually some sound from the hard drive that signals reading or writing. If there is no sound then that may be a signal that there is a problem with the hard disk drive. Such a phenomenon may be caused by excessive heat emitted by the CPU that causes some components within the hard drive to expand and touch other components within the hard drive.

Data Cabling Jobs Done Right Lead to Long-Term Clients. By Joshua Feinberg.
How true is this conventional wisdom? Is it just wishful thinking?
Well, it all depends. Obviously it kind of goes without saying, you need to exceed your clients' expectations with all of your data cabling jobs if you want to even have a chance at repeat business or word of mouth referrals.
That alone however is no guarantee of either repeat business or word of mouth referrals. It just means that you don't strike out over something silly and totally under your control, in most cases. So what can you do to get more repeat data cabling business and more word of mouth referrals?
The simplest approach to getting more repeat business is to diversify your service offerings and broaden the scope of what you deliver. For example, if you or your staff feels comfortable configuring simple routers and Ethernet settings in workstations and servers, that's a very easy add-on sale when you're pitching a data cabling job.
What if you don't have those skills in house? Or what if your clients want even more diverse, related IT services to go along with your data cabling work? Or what if they want the holy grail -- the single point of accountability for anything and everything related to their IT needs? That desire for a single point of accountability is actually a lot more common than many think.
Why?
Because when a small business has no internal IT staff, the non-technical small business owner or manager has absolutely no desire to deal with 5-6 different, potentially conflicting, IT vendors. As a result, smart small business owners and managers look for a single point of contact. Is it a cabling problem? A router problem? A device driver problem? A telco problem? An ISP problem?
Who cares?
Non-technical small business owners and managers sure as heck care. They have no ability or patience to referee 5-6 different IT vendors that are all pointing their fingers at each other. These non-technical small business owners and managers simply want to make a single phone call to their main IT service provider and know that the problem will be taken care of. No hours of enduring music on hold, no struggling to understand the language dialects of outsourced tech support reps in far away places, and no feeling like a human ping pong ball.
Now what does this all have to do with data cabling jobs?
It's really simple; if you want more repeat business with your clients, you need to take the lead as their outsourced Virtual IT manager. Does this mean you or your staff needs to be skilled on every possible piece of hardware, software or peripheral device that could possibly be found in a typical small business environment? Of course not.
However, it means that you do need to build a team of competent, dependable, local, non-competing technology providers to serve as your project partners and subcontractors for your projects. And it means you need to manage the projects and coordinate all the related tasks and vendors.
Is this a lot of work?
Absolutely. But by going beyond simple data cabling jobs to take on the role of outsourced Virtual IT manager, you'll take customers that in the past may have only spent $1,500 with you once... and now all of a sudden these clients are on annual service agreement commitments with minimum spend levels of $12,000/year each for many, many years to come.
Is it worth it?
Only you can decide. But if you want a lot more repeat business spinning off from your data cabling jobs and you want to position yourself to get a lot more word of mouth referrals, it's high time to broaden your way of thinking to go way beyond simple data cabling jobs.
In this article, we looked at how you can turn one-shot-deal customers into clients with much larger long-term lifetime client value and a lot more potential for word of mouth referrals. Restore Data From Damaged Hard Drive - A Quick Way to Recover Files From Crashed Hard Drive. By Jim Marshall
There are numerous ways a hard drive can be damaged. You could have suffered a serious system error. A terrible virus can take over your computer and corrupt your hard drive. Problems in the Windows registry can cause severe hard drive failure. Or perhaps it was due to human error or some kind of physical damage. Whatever the reason, you will need to recover lost files quickly before it is too late.

How to Recover Photos Deleted From SD Disk Or XD Card
Well if you somehow managed to delete a picture off your SD card that you really needed, I think you will be pleased to know that in most cases your file hasn't been permanently erased and it can still be retrieved and restored. Even if the memory card has been damaged, corrupted or formatted, it is still possible to restore the photos; with the aid of a good photo recovery tool you can get your photos back very easily. However you must act fast!!
The reason you must act quickly is because, when you delete a photo from your memory card it isn't actually permanently erased, all that has happened is that the space occupied by that photo is now available for re-use space. So until that space is re-used and overwritten by new data (new photos) your pictures are still there and can be easily restored. Hence you must act quickly and not take many new photos, because the new pictures you take may overwrite the old space occupied by your deleted photos.
Here are some common situations that occur to most digital camera users who wish to recover deleted photos from their SD Card-
They see the message:
1."Media is not formatted would you like to format now?" or "Memory Card Not Formatted"
This a common error amongst many users and if you have a lot of pictures on your storage device which you would like to recover then don't panic! All your pictures can be restored, all you need to do is grab a hold of a good photo recovery program and you will be home and hosed.
2."They wish to recover photos after they format SD Card or accidentally hit the Delete- All Button"
If you have accidentally used the Delete-All option on your camera or formatted the memory card, you can still recover your deleted photos from the SD Card if you act quickly. The reason the files are still recoverable is due to the fact that the Memory device won't overwrite the data immediately, so until you take any new pictures or download new data all of your old pictures will still be there.
Therefore if you wish to recover deleted photos from SD Disks or XD Cards then you must obtain a good picture recovery software, and you should have all your favorite photos back within minutes. The good news is that most recovery programs offer a free download, so you can try and see if your photos are recoverable at absolutely no cost.
If you have Lost or deleted important Photos, Don't Panic, all hope is not lost, With the right Photo Recovery Tool you should have your files back in no time. I have personally used this particular Program to recover some of my deleted photos, it has worked wonders for me and I'm sure it can do the same for you. Not only can you retrieve photos from SD Cards but also flash cards, Sony memory sticks, MMC Cards, XD Cards, Secure Digital Cards and many others!

Data Backup Before a Computer Crash - Data Recovery After a Computer Crash
Now, if you are running an internet business, or running a part of your business using a computer system, whether online or intranet, then you will know how devastating a loss of a full day's use of your computer system can be. Even worst is that the data loss that causes the downtime of a single day can easily blow up into days, and into weeks and months when you are trying to recover the data or to simply to re-create the database to recover your computer system.
Data Loss can mean the end of a viable business, or it can even set you back from profitability into a serious prolonged loss.
Even if you are not running a business from your computer system, but if you have important files, you will need to practise a healthy backup of your files periodically. You will need to know how to recover your files and data as well.
Gone are the days that data backup facilities are only available to the big institutions and companies. Today, you can avail yourself to peace of mind and data security by having the most reliable and proven remote backup services for as low as ten dollars per month, depending on the backup storage space required. While there are several free online storage space for files, these are mainly file sharing sites where your files are open to public viewing and downloads. These free storage space open your files to hacking, to peer to peer downloads and are highly unsuitable as backup storage space for your important computer information and files. In contrast, specialised data backup service providers enable easy 5 minute installs and backups of your files and data, and can be operated by remote from any computer around the world, and enable the highest level of data security and protection for a low cost.
There is hardly any more reason for anyone who uses computer data and information not to have a robust and reliable data backup service for his files and data. Backing up your computer information via a proven backup service is part and parcel of a protection plan against sudden unexpected data loss which may result in tremendous financial loss, especially if you are running an online business. It pays to be protected against sudden data loss and computer failure by using a remote backup data system.

Data Recovery - Crazy Things You May Be Doing to Frustrate It.
Things can go badly wrong here because in many cases failure of the storage device in question will tend to cause physical damage as well. Hard drives can suffer mechanical failures like head crashes and failed motors and CD-ROMs can have their metallic substrate or dye layers damaged or scratched off. Multiple techniques are used to retrieve data in this case. For instance sometimes the damage can be repaired by replacing parts of the hard disk which makes the disk usable so that the logical damage can then be dealt with. A specialized disk-imaging procedure can be used to recover every readable bit from the surface so that reconstruction of the original file system can be attempted.
It is very important to realize that this physical damage has to be dealt with first before any data can be salvaged from the storage media. This damage cannot be repaired by just anybody.
A common mistake is to open a hard disk in a normal environment which can pose serious danger to the data ever being recovered. For instance airborne dust can get caught between the head and the platter causing a fresh head crash that further damages things.
That is why it might be a good idea to hand over the project to experts the minute the problem occurs. Data recovery professionals have the technical expertise to ensure that even as they work on retrieving the lost data, the environment does not compromise the success of their work.

What Causes Data Recovery Trouble?
Virus Attacks: Viruses are programs that are designed to corrupt or interfere with the normal operations of a computer system and even cause destruction of files. The destructive ones attach themselves to certain files and ensure all the data within is completely destroyed.
Operating System Failure: An operating system is used to give a platform on which data can be created and also stored. If the operating system fails it means that data manipulation (which includes creating, processing and storing) cannot take place. In this way any data stored will be lost.
Mishandling: It is almost impossible to be 100% careful even when dealing with computer hardware especially storage devices. Since storage devices may be moved from one computer to another, there is a possibility of not always being careful enough e.g. there is a possibility that a CD or DVD may scratch because of carelessness, or they may be exposed to extreme conditions (heat) causing data to be corrupted or even when trying to move the hard disk to another computer, it falls and gets damaged.
Power Problems: Power problems may come in form of power surges. A power surge occurs when there is an oversupply of voltage from the power company. Most hardware components are designed to handle a certain voltage and any voltage above the specified one causes damage e.g. if the hard disk drive is to handle 50v and 200v is supplied to it, it may just give in and crash.
Human Error: As we all know, there is no perfect human being. Some of the errors could be accidental erasure, mishandling of storage devices, forgetfulness etc.
Natural Disaster: Since we cannot control or explain nature, some disasters caused by nature may occur. This may include earthquakes, floods, fires etc.

Is Backup 100% Safe in Keeping You From Data Recovery?
Data lost before backup: It is possible that while working on some information, it gets lost, either intentionally or no-intentionally, before you back it up. If the information was large, this means recreating the data, which is both time wasting and costly. Thus, backups, although advisable to have, are not 100% secure for recovering your data. In such scenarios, the best thing to do would to contact a data recovery specialist as soon as possible.
Destruction of backup: As we all know, there is no one who can control nature apart from the one who created it. In cases of natural disaster like floods, earthquakes, etc and some human errors like fires, backups cannot be an assured way of recovering data. This means that if one of these disasters were to occur in a certain organization, both the originals and backups would be destroyed. This is because these disasters destroy everything in their path.
Out-dated backup: It is possible that backups may not be updated for a while. This may be due to an employee feeling unwell, human forgetfulness or even data is lost before being updated. If the most recent information is lost it would mean recreation of data from the last update. This is both time consuming and costly in that worker would want to be paid overtime in recreating the data. Thus, backups cannot be trusted fully. In the case of data loss, get the professional services of a data recovery specialist who will know how to handle the problem.
Server crash: In most places, the servers are used to hold backups. This means that if the server crashes and one did not have any other backup, all the information within it including backups are lost. Since one may not have prior knowledge of when a server may crash, then backups are not really 100% safe for data recovery.

Q&A For Computer File Recovery.
A: It is titled, data recovery. Data recovery salvages information from failed, corrupted, or damaged hard disk drives, CDs, and various other electronics. Data recovery is also the course of action taken to retrieve and secure information from storage media for the purposes of spying such as in spy ware.
Q: What can I do to prevent losing data again?
A: Back up your hard drive on to a CD, DVD or an external drive as much as possible. Not only does this keep your information, pictures, and business documents safe, but then it will travel with you anywhere and is easily accessible.
Just a note: We live in an age of electrical data consumption by end users. End users collect data for commercial and sometimes personal use. Along with that comes the risk of computer viruses, trojan attacks, or corrupted files making your data inaccessible. Because so much of this is out of your control, there are several companies whose job it is to retrieve your lost or corrupted files.
Q: Can I retrieve information I need from my recycle bin?
A: Absolutely. Go to your recycle bin icon on your desk top and right click. Select file or folder and then click restore. If you emptied your recycle bin recently you will need third-party software specializing in data retrieval.
Q: I have a new computer but I need to recover data from a crashed computer. How do I accomplish that?
A: Use a third party software data retrieval CD. Or, you may remove the hard drive from your crashed computer and get an adapter to hook up to the other computer as an external drive.
Q: Due to a power outage my computer failed. I can't find the business template I was working on. What can I do?
A: This is what is called logical damage. You may have to repeat your work, but first, run your de-fragment and disk check-up program. Continue to do this on a regular basis and it will help your computer to keep from defragmenting information you have not saved during a power outage. Also, a backup power system may be necsassary.

Hard Disk Drive Failure Error Message.
In this case, when you start your system you will get the error message:
"Hard disk drive failure"
This error message is the indication that the hard drive is physically damaged and Hard Disk Recovery is required. The error is specific in Windows XP (Home and Professional edition) and Windows 2000 (Professional edition). Using Fdisk.exe so as to view partition information, when the system has been started from Windows 98 Startup disk, generates another error message:
"No fixed disk present"
Other than hard drive failure, user can also look if:
• Hard disk is installed correctly
• Hard disk is properly configured in the system BIOS (Basic Input/Output System)
* BIOS is a program run by the computer system as soon as it is turned on which contains all the instructions to control hard disk drives, serial communication, keyboard, video display card and other such hardware. So, this is required that hard drive should be configured correctly, else BIOS would identify it as failed.
So this is required to check for correct installation and BIOS configuration of hard disk, to avoid any Recovery. We can simply replace the hard drive after data backup, if it is under warranty period. However, if stored data is important Recovery service can offer help extracting lost information.
Hard Drive Recovery is the manual help, offered by data recovery industry experts. It consists of failed hard drive repairs, parts alignment, hard drive internal settings and more. An intermediate Hard Disk Recovery procedure - image is formed and data is extracted. Special care is taken for maintaining data integrity by incorporating Clean Rooms so that no dust particle and other such factors may harm disk internals. Such high standards of Clean Rooms provide better data protection.

New Flash Recovery Device is on the Way.
Along with the fast growth of technology, flash based storage devices become more involved in our daily like, from SD card, CF card to USB flash disk, flash memory. To store those critical data related in work or life, most people have several USB disks with different storage capacities.
The same as other storage devices, there is also the risk of data loss of flash memory. As you might know, a simple data loss case can be recovered via some logical data recovery software, however, comes to the case that the flash memory can not be recognized by computer, where these logical data recovery software never work.
There are currently many flash memory recovery tools out there, but a huge flaw is that, the extreme limitation of support list, even matched one in ten with the flash memory series available in market. Because of the limitation of support list, many customers have negative perspectives on these tools, saying that they are not cost-effective.
The essential matter that makes data recovery difficult is that the chip embedded in flash memory.
The method adopted in current devices is to analyze flash memory chips byte by byte, to know better of the data storage arithmetic from the chips, the more effective solution to data recovery can be worked out. There's a difference between flash memory and hard drive, where hard drive can be produced by only a few competitive manufacturers, on the other hand, the remainders are still using the method designed for hard drive repair tools. That's why these kinds of tools will not be able to catch up in the real world, no matter how hard work was made to improve or provide updates by those manufacturers. As we probably know, the cost of flash memory is relatively low and less technology-intensive. Now a hundreds of thousands vendors are providing flash memory series, meaning hundreds of thousands models and brands can be seen everywhere in the market, even a single vendor has different flash memory series, which means the data storage arithmetic is probably different. In this case, to figure out a solution from numerous arithmetic is absolutely not so wise.
Therefore, no matter how they update or improve their products and soon it will turn out unsatisfied by their customers. Of course, some manufacturers keep producing these products on profiting purpose by their update versions.
According to SalvationDATA experts, the uniquely designed algorithm known as Universal Arithmetic achieved independent from the chips data storage arithmetic, to analyze data effectively and directly from flash memory chips. Simply extract flash memory chips out, put them to a special reading workstation device, so it will image all the data from the chips, and then access the data directly via a program. It supports all the flash memory chips, whatever single-chip or mulitichip. It also support a wide variety of flash based storage device like SSD, SD card, CF card, TF card, etc. Otherwise, the price will be attention-attracting, more affordable than any other tools, plus lifelong free update services.
It may seem like the last thing you want to do in an economic downturn is invest in new hardware, but, now IT experts say that suspending hardware investments can prove shortsighted. Trying to imagine when new technology surfaces --- everything from new versions of software to products you are possessing --- running this hardware longer, cost more, where the classic mistakes is being penny-wise and pound foolish.
So having a prudent investment of hardware really is saving money and can boost your business in the midst of tough economic times. All rights reserved. Free to copy the article, without re-editing.

Data Recovery Services Vs Data Recovery Software
Losing various files on your computer can be a serious issue depending on what you use your operating system for. The possibility of a hard drive going out or a server needing to be replaced can happen to anyone so be prepared. You may log onto your computer several times each day without incident and then suddenly you find everything destroyed. This includes your work, videos, contacts for e-mail, songs, software, favorite sites, everything you take for granted when you log into your computer.
Most people have too much confidence in their computer to bother making a backup file anymore for important information. This is your choice and one that most people won't be persuaded to change. However you need to know that you will have to pay for data recovery services should you have trouble later on. While you can get software for less there is no guarantee it will be able to recover what you need.
You will be amazed and the quality of work data recovery services provide. In addition to recovering your data they are able to pinpoint what caused the situation to begin with. This can be good information for preventing it from taking place again in the future. Most data recovery services will cost you plenty but you will get what you pay for with their services. You can find a reputable data recovery service provider online or in the phone book.
Many of them are willing to provide you with a free consultation. This is a great way to compare prices, their experience, and the amount of time it will take them to recover your data. Make sure you look into their reputation with other people as well.

Data Recovery Action Plan.
Many times we take things for granted. It is only when things happened that it is too late for data recovery. Here is an interest article to help you prepare and protect your data in your hard drive. Its just a matter of time before you experience a hard drive problem. Are you prepared to loose your data? If your hard drive crashed right now do you have an action plan to follow?
Most people only think of backing up their data after they experience a problem. Don't set yourself up for a data loss disaster.
Your data integrity action plan should consist of the following:
1) How often you will back up your data;
2) What data you will back up;
3) What back up procedure you will use.
How often you back up your data can only be determined by how important you feel it is. Answer this question "If my hard drive crashed right now, I would be alright if I had the data from at least (time) ago".
Of course you would want everything but if you could have the data from 1 month, or 6 months ago would that be sufficient? Whatever time is sufficient mark it on your calendar both a hard copy and set up a meeting on your PC to remind you.
You change your smoke detector batteries when you turn your clock back and when you turn it ahead right? Well back up your data then too.
If you don't change your clocks then pick some holidays or special dates that happen close to the timeframe you want to back up your data so you won't forget.
What data you back up depends on how you use your PC. Some of the key directories, if you are using Windows, are the My Documents, Favorites and Desktop directories.
Remember if you are using multiple profiles on your PC then the three directories above can be different for each profile and each one would need to be backed up.
You will also want to include your email data. Don't forget to write down the email accounts you have. You should also write down any username and passwords so they are not lost. You should look at every directory to see if it has information that you would need.
Make a list of all the software programs you are using. If you have the physical CDs put them all together in a safe location.
Don't forget the CDs for your peripherals like your scanner, digital camera, PDA etc… Collecting these CDs may remind you of additional data that you need to back up. If you are running software that you installed from downloaded files, burn them to a CD-R and add it to your collection.
If you use a CD-R or DVD-R you can update it as you download and install new applications.
What procedure you use to back up your data can be determined by the amount of data you want to back up. Your data might fit onto a CD or DVD in which case you just need to burn it and you're done.
If it spans multiple DVDs then you might want to consider getting a second hard drive to copy your data onto. If you are not comfortable with adding a second internal hard drive or you are using a laptop then you can purchase an external hard drive to back up your data.
The information you have on your hard drive could disappear in a flash. If you don't want to spend up to $3,000 to have a data recovery company retrieve what information they can from your hard drive, then take a few minutes right now and create your back up action plan.
If you ever have a data emergency your action plan will be your insurance policy. If you adhere to it, your valuable data will adhere to you!
I hope this article is useful in helping you to start a data emergency action plan, so that in case of a hard disk crash, you need not have to worry about going through the tedious process of data recovery.

Data Recovery Tips.
Whatever happened to your data - whether files were accidentally deleted, the drive was formatted or fdisk'ed, a virus has wiped out the boot record or even if it is no longer recognized by the OS, as long as it wasn't physically overwritten, the data which was on the drive is still there and can be recovered.
The files just aren't accessible anymore the way they should be. For example, if you delete a file, the file's data is not deleted from the drive, but instead a signature byte is set at the start of the file's file name. This signature byte tells the OS that this area can be overwritten by other data next. And that's exactly what happens: the next time you write something to the drive, the new data will be written to the so marked area. But this also means, that as long as nothing new is written to the drive, the data is still there, intact and can therefore be easy recovered.
This behavior is also the reason why trying to undelete single deleted files often isn't successful. When you delete a file and you empty the recycle bin as well - as soon as you notice that you still need the file, chances are that you have done something in the meantime, that has overwritten the data area of the file.
Even in cases which seem the most radical - when you for example have formatted your drive from FAT32 to NTFS- and five minutes later realize that you didn't mean to format THIS drive, all of your files are still there. When you format a FAT32 drive, everything is destroyed (the boot record, the FAT, the root directory) except for the partition table and the data. And that's all you need! As long as the data's still there your files can be reconstructed - very often nearly perfectly.
"Installing this one program will not hurt..."
Yes it will! NEVER install or copy anything to the hard drive you want to recover data from. If you can avoid it, don't even run the drive anymore. Run it only one more time, after you have attached it to a healthy Windows computer as a second drive, installed the data recovery software on the other, "good" drive, and are running the software to scan the "bad" drive.
Writing anything to the drive you have the data loss on, can doom the whole recovery. Installing a seemingly tiny 1MB program on the drive can mean that you are not only overwriting 1MB of space on the drive, but are corrupting 500MB or more worth of files (especially when the hdd is fragmented) beyond recovery.
Even surfing the Internet (looking for data recovery tools) without downloading anything can overwrite data on the drive. While on the Internet temporary file are constantly created on your hard drive, often without you knowing it and even if you have disabled the use of cookies etc...
"In the end only a professional data recovery service can help..."
If you lost data due to a physical problem with the drive, for example the drive is making strange noises, doesn't spin at all, or is no longer recognized by the BIOS, this might be the case. When a hdd is physically damaged most times no software solution is going to bring your data back. It is recommended not even to try to recover your hdd yourself in these cases, because each time you run a damaged drive could be last time it is running at all.
When you still feel tempted to try to recover a physically challenged drive yourself, at least - before you do anything else- make an image of the drive and run all data recovery attempts on the image.
But for all data loss scenarios due to logical failures like accidental file deletion, format, fdisk, software or power failure, user error, virus attack etc. the following is true:
* You don't have to be a computer pro to conduct your own data recovery safely and inexpensively!
* Don't try to use any repair tools, like "boot record repair" or "bad sector repair" tools, whatever is out there. Don't run ScanDisk. These tools are writing to your drive, and in the process are likely to overwrite the very files you intend to recover.
* Instead use data recovery tools, which don't write to the drive. Make sure to use the data recovery software as recommended. Never install or copy anything to the drive you are about to recover. Instead attach the drive to a working Windows computer as a second or slave drive and run the software from the "good" computer.

Hard Drive Data Recovery.
The faster computers and servers get, the smaller they get (such as laptop or notebook computers) and the more advanced hard disk drives get, the more susceptible they are to physical damage and hard drive failure. This is because of the heat these devices generate, which often may result in the need for hard drive data recovery, hard disk repair or professional level services such as exchange data recovery.
If you think you may need hard drive data recovery, consult this checklist:
1. Have you lost a few files, or is your computer not booting properly?
2. Has your hard drive made any buzzing or clicking noises?
3. When booting, does your computer see your hard drive, or instead provide you with a message like: I/O error?
4. What were you doing when you first encountered the data or hard drive loss?
5. Did you experience what many in the PC industry call "the blue screen of death"? If you had, what was the error message?
Once you have the answers to these five simple questions, you are ready to determine whether or not you need hard disk recovery software-based, or hardware data recovery. The last can be very expensive because technicians often need to first disassemble your hard drive to fix the problem. But you should always try first to run some diagnostic tools which can help you to determinate how serious the problem might be. Physical hard drive data recovery is usually done in a special 'clean room' without dust (picture below) because hard drives are specially sealed to avoid errors caused by dust or other particles. Also hard drives are very finely tuned devices and it takes special equipment to read the platters from a physically damaged hard drive.

If you are sending your hard drive to a data recovery specialist then you should attempt to obtain an upfront estimate of fees (although you will rarely get one), ask that if you send your hard drive for quotation purposes will they send it back to you in the same condition if you choose not to use the service, and make sure you send it to a reputable company as you may only get one chance at hard drive data recovery.

Data Recovery As Used For Damaged Or Corrupted Hard Drives.

So how can we effect data recovery from any and all damaged hardware? In the case of our damaged DVDs we simply use a machine to polish off the scratches and hope the media can once again be read. In the case of the damaged hard drive we have several options. If the damage is due to an over heated and thus fried control board we replace the board so as to gain the time to rescue our data onto another storage device. Motors can be replaced with this same intent. Generally any hard drive that has sustained a failure is no longer a trusted candidate for data storage. And it should be noted that new hard drives are inexpensive. Unless we are dealing with huge storage arrays, repairing of a hard disk unit for reuse is never a good financial choice. When dealing with physical damage to storage devices and media we have one goal, and that is to safely retrieve as much of our lost data as is possible. The specific techniques used to that end are referred to as hard drive repair.Feb 14, 2009
Recover My Files with Advance Data Recovery Software.
Introduction
"GetData is a leading provider of end user software for data recovery, file recovery, computer forensics and file previewing. Our products are designed to get data back from computer hard drive, digital cameras, other storage media, and email files. Our software products available online, OEM, and in retail stores throughout the world."
This software will easy Recover deleted files emptied from the recycle bin or deleted due to a virus infection, the format of a hard drive or software crash. Preview files with the download version.

Crashed Hard Drive, Hard Disk Data Recovery Software, Tools and Service.
Just like you, my hard disk crashed when I was busy rushing for my mid term assignment, I stayed clam, took a deep breath and use a hard drive recovery software to retrieve my damaged hard drive. These software are free of charge, unlike paid hard drive recovery software, these software performed the same task minus the expensive price tag of hundred of dollars. I’ve compiled a few possible scenarios with the respective solutions:
Data Disc Recovery (Software)
Data Disc Recovery is a free hard drive recovery software made available by DAGsoft, it can efficiently scan and recover data from crashed hard disk data in FAT and NTFS format. Besides standard hard disk file recovery data, DDR can also:
- Recover data lost by ’shift - delete’ on FAT partitions
- Recover any data fragments from drive
- Search drive through many criterion
- Searching data directly on HDD, for example scanning free clusters in search for our file

PC Inspector File Recovery (Software)
PC Inspector file recovery is a hard drive data recovery software, if DDR failed in recovering your hard drive data, do give PC Inspector a try before you pay for a shareware, some of the key features of this free hard drive crash data recovery tool:
- Works even if the boot sector or FAT has been erased
- The free hard disk recovery tool has a user friendly GUI - like the Windows Explorer structure
- Recovers files with the original date and timestamp
- It can find partitions automatically, even if the boot sector or FAT has been erased or damaged.
- It can recover files with the orginal time and date stamp.
- It can recover files even when the header entry is no longer available.
- It supports a variety of formats, including those created by compressed and archiving programs.
Just like DDR, PC INSPECTOR™ File Recovery is free. This means that the software does not cost you a single penny. Download PC Inspector.
If you are not tech savvy, and really want good technical support,in addition to reliable hard disk data recovery and a guarantee results, you should opt for commercial hard disk backup and recovery software.

Damaged Hard Drive Data Recovery (Components)
If your hard drive is damaged, for instant, it flew off the table and landed on your floor, causing damage to your precious oak timber floor and some minor damages to your hard drive components, don’t panic! The technician will quote you an inflated price for that tiny component, which doesn’t make any sense when the same new hard disk with the required component cost 1/10 of the price.
Solution? Get yourself a brand new hard drive, if you are tech savvy enough, change the component yourself or pass the new hard drive to the technician, tell him the replacement part needed can be found in the new hard drive.
Data Recovery Boot Disk (Boot Disk)
Active@ Boot Disk is a bootable LiveCD/DVD/USB Flash Disk that allows you to boot up any computer and fix most startup and PC configuration problems. Use Active@ Boot Disk to recover your lost data, manage HDD partitions, reset Windows passwords, make computer system backups [disk images], securely erase data and there is much more.
Active@ Boot Disk (Win Edition)
Active@ Boot Disk (DOS Edition)
This software works when your hard drive partition is healthy, it is advisable to make a system backup of your disk image. Alternatively, you can try TESTDISK, TestDisk is a DOS and Windows tool (also available for Linux) produced by CGsecurity.org that can be used to locate and recover lost partitions (FAT and NTFS) by repairing the partition table or replacing partition boot sectors with the backup copies.
Unbootable Laptop Hard Disk Data Recovery (Boot Disk)
FindNTFS is an effective free hard drive data recovery software to locate and recover NTFS files. It is available in several versions, including one that will run from a DOS boot, and thus can be used when the Windows OS is not bootable.
Alternatively, you can try this method if the above methods does not work, for unbootable laptop or desktop, remove the hard disk and swap it with your external/portable hard drive. Plug the USB to a desktop or laptop, install the hard drive recovery software and perform the necessary task. Usually Windows will detect the hard disk and request that you perform a ‘check disk’ on the hard disk, proceed as advised and chances are, Windows will recover the damaged partition.

Reformat Hard Drive Under XP?
Be forewarned, formatting a hard drive is MUCH different than formatting a Word document. The format will erase *everything* on the disk (the operating system, your programs and data files) and leave you unable to even boot up the PC. About the only thing you can do with a freshly formatted drive is install an operating system from CDROM.
I know... that's exactly what you said you wanted to do. But that *may* be a bit drastic. After re-installing Windows XP, you will need to reapply all the patches and fixes from Microsoft, then reinstall all the software packages you previously had. It could take many hours just to download the Windows Update files.
I'm guessing you're considering this move because your PC has been infested by a bunch of spyware and/or viruses, and is now acting sluggish and flaky. But before you go all samurai on your hard drive, I recommend you follow all the steps in my Make Windows Run Faster! article. It's my special recipe to clean the gunk out of your computer's pipes, so Windows will start quicker, run more reliably, and go faster on the info-superhighway.
If you really want to format your hard drive...
You can't... at least not while you're running Windows. You'll have to reboot from the Windows XP installation CD, because you can't format the drive on which Windows is running. But first you'll probably want to back up your hard drive, or at least part of it. For help with that, see Backing Up Your Files and explore the various options for backing up your personal files.
Okay, back to reformatting... when the install disk boots up, you’ll see a message asking if you want to repair your existing installtion. You don't, so press ESC to bypass the repair option.
Now select the partition where Windows is installed, then press D to delete it. Press L to confirm the delete. Okay, it's time to create and format a new partition. Select the unpartitioned space and press C to create a new partition. Allot the maximum amount of space available, then press Enter.
Now select the partition you’ve just created, and format it. Choose the NTFS option, go for the "quick format" then sit and wait. When the new partition is formatted, you're ready to (re)install Windows. Don't forget to reinstall your anti-virus and anti-spyware software, and be sure to visit Windows Update as soon as possible to ensure that you have all the latest security fixes.

Hard Drive Data Recovery.
The physical damage to a hard drive could occur due to several mechanical failures such as failed motors or head crashes. The physical damage of a hard drive can always lead to some data loss and in many cases this can also results in damage to the logical structures of the file system. In fact, logical damages to a file system are more common than physical damage. This includes damages caused by power outages, which prevents file system structures from being completely written to the hard drive, system crashes, and problems with hardware (particularly RAID controllers).
Most physical damage to hard drives cannot be repaired by end users. For instance, opening a hard drive in a normal environment can cause dust to settle on the surface, resulting in further damage to the platters. Mind you, normal computer users may not have enough technical experience to make type of repairs. This is where hard drive data recovery companies play a major role in helping the end user to recover their valuable data from a damaged hard drive. Almost all these hard drive data recovery firms use Class 100 clean room facilities to protect your hard drive while repairing, and use the latest tools such as magnetometers to retrieve the lost bits from the magnetic media. The extracted raw bits retrieved from the damaged disk are used to rebuild a disk image, which can then be mounted to have its logical damage repaired.
Nowadays, there are several companies which offer hard drive data recovery software programs which help the end users to recover all their important files or folders lost after an accidental format, partition loss, software malfunction, file or directory deletion, or virus crash. Whether your computer crashes or you accidentally delete the files, hard drive data recovery software helps you to locate, recover and restore lost information from your disk.
Some of the main contexts where hard drive data recovery software could save one from the blues include a formatted drive, deleted file or directory, missing file or directory, drive not booting, inaccessible drive, support copying of system locked files like registry hives, damaged or corrupted partition table, recovery of deleted files and folders on FAT and NTFS hard drive or partitions, retrieve compressed files from NTFS partitions, data recovery on damaged FAT and NTFS partitions, and formatted hard drives.
Most of the hard drive data recovery software programs available in the market are easy to install and use and are virtually self maintaining. It is highly recommended to use any of the popular hard drive data recovery software in your computer along with other programs. The program frequently creates backup copies of all your files so that you need not have to worry of any potential unexpected data loss.
It is better to prevent and prepare than repent and repair later. Check http://harddriveusa.com for additional resources on hard drives.

Data Recovery Company: When Is It Right To Hire One?
What You Should Look For In a Data Recovery Company
Ask for a free diagnostic evaluation of your computer to find out if there is something that they can do to help. These companies should give you a guarantee to get your data back. If they couldn't do this then you should not be charged. Because many of your files can be very personal, the data recovery company should be confidential. They should be able to recover all media, file systems and OS. A good data recovery service company should also have multiple full service recovery labs to help you.
Additional Benefits you should expect from a company that recovers data
Before you pay for the service rendered you have to get a list of recoveries that are made from your system. Believe it or not, but In North America, there is only one ISO certified data recovery company. If you need one of these data recovery companies, then you need to make sure you make sure that this company can do it. Your satisfaction is utmost important.
There should be sophisticated research and development programs with such company, as well as warranty authorized. They should be factory authorized with DLT, SDLT, JAZ and ZIP.
Data Recovery Companies Can Save a lot of your valuable time
You might be having a very busy schedule in your business that you don't have time for spending on data recovery. In such cases the data recovery companies come to your rescue. They take the load off your shoulders and ensure you of your data back. Such companies should be authorized and sophisticated to handle such issues. You can pay such companies only if you see some progress in recovery.
Otherwise you shouldn't pay for them. they save a lot of time so that you can spend your time in meetings and other agendas instead of sitting before the system and recovering data.
A data recovery company can be a valuable business resource. However, the assessments of your needs should be finished before you decide whether or not to work with such a company. Then you can decide if you need this service as well as which company you eventually want to work with.

Recovering Your Data With Data Recovery.
One of the key things in choosing the right software, is to know how the data was lost. Whether it was due to a virus, a mistake on your part, or even a hardware failure, so that you can decide which is the best data recovery method to use.
If you are quick enough, it is possible that you will not even need the data recovery software. When data is deleted it is not always trashed straight away. The operating system will change the file so that it won't be displayed when you're looking for it.
If you can find this gap in the system before the computer uses it for something else, then it is possible to simply undelete it and the file will reappear with all your data. This way you can avoid the need for data recovery software and you should be back in business.
The trick is to be very quick and find the gap in the system before doing too much other work, as this, especially if your hard drive has got very little unused space, may cause the computer to use the gap for something else. If you have not noticed the loss, and the computer has used it, then probably your best chance is in using some good quality data recovery software or service.
Another problem can arise if you decide to repair the drive by defragging the computer, before you have a chance to try any data recovery. You probably will not lose all of it, but it is possible to lose some of it, as when you defrag it can cause some of the files to be overwritten.
Of course even if you only use one or two small files by doing this, chances are they will be the most important ones! So it is best to try to get to grips with your data recovery before doing any defragging. Even if you are not actively running this application, you should think whether you have preprogrammed to defrag the disc at specific intervals.
So if you think you have lost any data, it is always best to try and recover it before doing anything else. That way you have a much better chance of success with your data recovery.

Data Recovery - You Can Get It Back!
It's a wonder something that spins at thousands of times a minute doesn't crash more often than they do, what with all the abuse we heap upon them. When's the last time you did a dust patrol near your drive ports? Hard drives aren't the only data that can be saved too. Zip drives, floppies, DVD's, CD-ROM's and more can be rescued. And sometimes the worst of disasters will yield up results. Technicians regularly extract data from computers that are burned to a crisp. Admittedly this is trickier and more expensive, but it can be done. On woman had her Apple Powerbook sink to the bottom of the Amazon, whereupon tiring of waiting for the salvage operation, she promptly donned her scuba gear, swam down to the sunken boat and retrieved her precious files. She then mailed the whole mess to DriveSavers and they managed to save most of her data, despite being submerged for three days!
Most recoveries aren't nearly as sexy, and can usually be resolved with a software solution, usually by the client his or herself. Off the rack data recovery software is quite good and relatively inexpensive, especially when you compared to the cost of dealing with replacing the lost files. Most data recovery issues stem from human error, roughly 25%. A software solution can run you anywhere from $75-$400, whereas if the problem is too difficult and you have to box it up and send it out, expect to pay between $500-$2000, with the average price of $1000.
The key to remember is that deleted data is usually not gone forever, just maddeningly misplaced. The good news is that recovery can be a mouse click away!
